The "Campania Oncoterapie" project

EBRIS Foundation is involved as a coordinating center in international projects for a total value of over 30 million euros.

The province of Naples has one of the highest mortality rates in Italy with almost 29 deaths per 10,000 inhabitants in 2012. The Italian average is about 25. Among the factors that most influence the chances of a patient's recovery are are the early diagnosis and personalization of therapies.

The Campania Oncoterapie project will develop early diagnostic strategies and innovative personalized therapies. This means identifying "bio-markers" that allow the recognition of the disease at an early stage and provide the oncologist with relevant information to begin therapy in a personalized manner in its earliest stages. In parallel, innovative therapeutic drugs and vaccines capable of overcoming the limitations of standard oncological therapies will be developed. The project is based on a simple but innovative concept: the construction of a common platform on which to allow the best minds of our territory to collaborate to achieve a common goal. The project will end in December 2020 and is supported by funds from the European Union, the Campania Region and the POR FESR 2014-2020.
