Dr Simona Musella graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Naples Federico II in 2007. In 2011 she obtained her PhD degree at the University of Salerno. During the PhD studies, she was at the CSIC, Madrid (Spain), in the group of prof María José Camarasa for the synthesis of nucleoside analogues, purine based, as potential antiviral agents. From 2012 to 2015 he won a Research fellow at the University of Messina with the project “Hi-life” (PON01_01499), under the supervision of prof. L. Mondello. The following years she worked in the laboratories of prof. P. Campiglia of the University of Salerno working on the synthesis and characterization of: peptide structures capable of selectively inhibiting the enzyme HIV integrase; heterocyclic modulators of TRPM8 channel and heterocyclic derivatives inhibitors of VZ virus. She is currently researcher at the European Biomedical Research Institute of Salerno (EBRIS). Its research activities focus on design, synthesis (liquid, solid and flow phase) of peptide peptidomimetic and heterocyclic, molecules biologically active. Purification by chromatographic techniques (flash chromatography, HPLC) and Characterization by spectroscopic techniques (mass spectrometry, NMR spectroscopy).
